Oracle DBA

Job Description:
The Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for managing 7thOnline's web-based production environment.  7thOnline is a growing technology company that provides a highly entrepreneurial working environment where collaboration, creativity, commitment and teamwork are rewarded.

Primary Responsibilities

• Install and configure Oracle database environments
• Perform database tuning and administrative functions for production and data warehousing environments
• Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
• Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)
• Must be able to backup and recover an Oracle database in a variety of configurations (disk or tape archives, rman or cold backups)

Job Qualifications

• The preferred candidate will have the following:
  1. Bachelor degree in Computer Science/related discipline/technical training equivalent or the equivalent in education and work experience
  2. Must be highly motivated and demonstrate high level of initiative
  3. Knowledge of data warehousing
• Minimum 5 - 10 years experience; must have at least 2 years experience as an Oracle DBA
• Must have an in-depth knowledge of Oracle, Linux, PL/SQL, and shell scripting
• Must have strong PL/SQL skills and database management experience
• Familiarity with Perl and Java
• Experience with web application development
• Solid communication skills
